The Quality Of Crystalink Diamonds
Crystalink Jewellery use a very high quality of gemstone in their diamond pieces.
We feel you should never sacrifice quality for size as a diamond creates far more
attraction by its sparkle. In our diamond range we stock a high colour ranging from
G to I. Certified diamonds are available on request. higher than G generally from 0.50 carats upwards. We also keep the clarity very
high as well, keeping an eye-clean diamond free from any visible black carbon marks
or inclusions. Clarity grading is kept between SI 1 to VS 1.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR
Two diamonds may at first glance look the same but can be completely different.
Both may be of equal size but can have very unequal values. Cut, Colour, Clarity and
Carat weight - together they are known as the 4Cs. It is these characteristics that
determine the value of a diamond.

Cut
Round brilliant cut diamonds are cut with 58 facets (including culet), a good cut has
more scintillation, more sparkle. The shape of a diamond, however, is largely a matter
of personal preference and does not affect the value.
The facets reflect the light of each other and allow the brilliance of the diamond to come to life.
When a diamond is cut to good proportions (1), light is reflected from one facet to another and then disposed
through the top of the diamond. If the diamond is too deep (2), the light will escape
through the opposite side of the pavilion. If the cut is too shallow (3), light escapes
through the pavilion before it can be reflected.

Colour
The best colour for a diamond is no colour. The more the diamond sparkles the higher the
grade and the value. Diamonds are graded through a alphabet system starting from D right
down to Z. Higher up the alphabet towards D the more sparkle you get and the more valuable
the diamond is. The difference between one grade and another are very subtle.

Clarity
A diamond that is virtually free of interior inclusions or exterior flaws is the highest
quality, for nothing interferes with the passage of light through the diamond. Minute
inclusions neither mar its beauty nor endanger its durability. However, the clearer the
diamond, the more valuable it is.

Carat Weight
Bigger is not necessarily better. A diamond is measured in carats to give its weight.
One carat is divided into 100 points, so a diamond of 50 points weighs 0.50 carats.
A diamond can start in weight as little as 1 point (0.01 carats) too as how ever large
you would like to go.
